Radiation Biodosimetry Workshop at KIRAMS, Seoul, Korea
Biological dosimetry (biodosimetry) is an imminent part of the countermeasures in the aftermath of radiation accidents. Based on the quantification of markers in the blood of affected victims (e.g., dicentric chromosomes, micronuclei, or translocations), the method allows for a precise and retrospective estimation of the dose the persons have received. The National Radiation Emergency Medical Center (NREMC) in the Korea Institute of Radiological & Medical Sciences (KIRAMS) recently hosted a MetaSystems workshop on the implementation of Metafer for biodosimetry imaging automation. The workshop has been supported by our Korean partner Mirax Corporation.

College of American Pathologists
The College of American Pathologists (CAP), the leading organization of board-certified pathologists, serves patients, pathologists, and the public by fostering and advocating excellence in the practice of pathology and laboratory medicine worldwide.
The theme of the meeting this year will be, "Precision Medicine Begins Here”. The Precision Medicine Initiative of the National Institutes of Health defines precision medicine as "an emerging approach for disease treatment and prevention that takes into account individual variability in genes, environment, and lifestyle for each person." For an increasing number of diseases across a wide variety of medical specialties, the one-size-fits-all approach to patient diagnosis and treatment is becoming obsolete. Molecular professionals lead the way in developing and applying new technologies to achieve the best patient care and outcome in this rapidly evolving field. We also play a vital role in educating our clinical colleagues, lay public, and elected officials of the value of the critical work that we do.
