MetaSystems Installation at IPEN (Instituto Peruano de Energía Nuclear)

As part of an initiative by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the world’s leading organization promoting the safe, secure, and peaceful use of nuclear technologies, a new MetaSystems installation was recently completed at IPEN (Instituto Peruano de Energía Nuclear) in Peru. The implementation included training for the staff of the Subdirectorate of Radiological Safety and focused on the automated detection of dicentric chromosomes.
With this installation, the project conducted in collaboration with MetaSystems Germany and the Latin American Biological Dosimetry Network (LBDNet) has been successfully completed.
Established in 2007, LBDNet plays a vital role in ensuring rapid biological dosimetry response during radiation emergencies. The network brings together 12 member countries across Latin America: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
We thank LBDNet for their continued trust and collaboration. It is inspiring to contribute to efforts that combine advanced imaging technology and regional expertise to strengthen preparedness and response in radiological and nuclear incidents.
