Advancing Toxicology Through Automation and AI

Oct 6, 2026

MetaSystems is proud to collaborate with the Korea Institute of Toxicology (KIT) in accelerating the adoption of AI- and automation-based technologies for genotoxicity and cytogenetic assessments.

The partnership was recently formalized with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Busan, Republic of Korea, marking an important milestone in our shared commitment to the digital transformation of toxicological testing.

Our automated imaging and analysis solutions are designed to transform workflows that have traditionally depended on manual microscopic review. By increasing efficiency, standardization, and reproducibility, we help laboratories generate high-quality data while reducing the burden of routine analysis.

Building on successful studies demonstrating automated in vivo micronucleus scoring, MetaSystems and KIT will continue to explore new applications in chromosome aberration analysis, FISH, biological dosimetry, and next-generation toxicological assessment methods. A recent joint study comparing automated and manual micronucleus analysis has already demonstrated the potential of automation in this field, with the results accepted for publication in Genetic Toxicology and Environmental Mutagenesis.

As laboratories worldwide move towards digital and AI-supported workflows, collaborations like this are essential for translating innovation into practical solutions for research, safety assessment, and regulatory science.

We are excited about the opportunities ahead and thank our colleagues at KIT for their trust, collaboration, and shared vision for the future of toxicology.
