XXIX Congresso Nazionale SIGU

The Italian Society of Human Genetics (SIGU) was established on November 14, 1997, following the merger of the previously existing Italian Association of Medical Genetics and the Italian Association of Medical Cytogenetics, which simultaneously ceased their operations.

In addition to the association's primarily scientific objectives, the new society serves as a reference and advisory body for issues of scientific and health interest concerning human genetics in all its applications to humans.
